    Cultural Arts Update:

Sophia Snow will be performing her Poetry.

On Day One of the Conference, April 2, 2007, Sofia Snow will be performing (time to be determined). Sofia Snow has, in a short time, become a veritable force in Boston's community of writers, activists, artists, and performers. Just recently celebrating her 18th birthday, Sofia was featured on Project: Think Different's (PTD) Empowerment: The Power to Break You Free at just 16-years-old. Since then, Sofia has worked with PTD to perform and present workshops at a variety of conferences, schools, and venues throughout Boston, including the Media Matters Conference, sponsored by the Boston Globe, the IDEAS Boston Conference, Berklee College of Music, the Western Front, and the Mayor's Youth Summit, where she was recognized with the "Teen Positive Image Award."

Project: Think Different's mission is increase civic dialogue and action through the use of music, film, and video. Their programs provide education, incentives and access to socially conscious and socially responsible messages in the media arts while at the same time providing content and forums that inspire and enroll the broader public in action to create more healthy communities. They are committed to "animating democracy" by using the media arts as the entry point into meaningful dialogue and action.
